Finally,
After a long waiting me n my hubby decided to venture Coorg, a place meant for its scenic beauties. We had so many obstacles for this as the monsoon had already started and was raining heavily in mid Karnataka. Some said that there will be a thunderstorm. Some said that there may be a high risk for landslides. With all this confusion loaded in our mind, we started to Mysore thru Shadapti, the superfast express by 6 in the morning. The Journey was simply superb. We didnt feel it to be a 7 hours journey. We were fully engaged with eatables starting from coffee, biscuit, morning breakfast (Bread butter jam, omlett) and a delicious tomato soup.
We reached Mysore by 2 in the afternoon. Thanks to the almighty the sky was cloudy alone. No rain or thunderstorm in Mysore. But we weren't sure how the climate will be in Coorg. Gave a wonderfull start for our 4 days trips by visiting the Mysore Palace which stand erect in the mid of city boasting India's artistic skills and richness. As we entered the main gate of the Mysore Palace, we saw a small temple that was closed at that time. we started to proceed towards the palace. I was completely mesmerized to see the party hall inside the palace. A huge hall with glass paintings on the roof of the party hall is a big gift of the skilled painters of those days.
I was completely out of the world wen I saw the paintings and artistic works carried on the roof of the palace. God, the people of those days were not only rich they were too skilled, blessed with divine skill, courage and confidence. How it would have been possible for them to build such a big palace with a huge collection of paintings on wall, roof and pillars without any modern equipments. They are really great!!. Ravi Varma's Painitings of the king's family, the queen, painiting of the procession of archery, infantry, rivalry forces say that goddess sarawathi was dancing in their hands in the form of paint brushes.
